- Contact your local School Milk Facilitator
- Decide which milk scheme option is best for your school
- Canvass parents with scheme letter and health benefits information - Click here to download letter
- Decide when milk drinking should take place (eg, mid morning)
- Decide who collects the money, how often, who distributes the milk and where milk is best consumed
- Contact Local Authority or local dairy supplier for further details on ordering the milk
- Decide whether a fridge or cool boxes are needed. Ask the Local Authority or the dairy if refrigeration is available
- Collate results of canvassing letter - Decide and communicate scheme start date (eg, parents, dairy, LA, Healthy Schools Advisor, School Milk Facilitator)
- Arrange a date with your local School Milk Facilitator to give class talks or assembly (if required)
